Spring 2017

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!

I’m writing to share with you the tremendous things God is doing on the bay island of Roatan, Honduras! In the last 3 months, we’ve seen more than a dozen people baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins, including one who was baptized as a result of the “Apostolic’s at Sea” cruise that docked in early February – the woman baptized is still coming faithfully, and seeking the Holy Ghost regularly! Additionally, we seen almost that many receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, evidence by speaking in other tongues – this is a MAJOR deal because the island has traditionally been steeped in a trinitarian doctrine which discouraged the members to seek the Holy Ghost, and explained that it was only for a select few who were give the “gift of tongues” – little by little we are destroying the yoke of this bondage! We are deeply thankful for your considerate prayers and support, it would not be possible without you!

Furthermore, I also wanted to share some exciting news. The church in Roatan has finally arrived to the place in spiritual maturity and development where some of the men are ready for the next stage of development. Consequently, beginning this SATURDAY (April 1st) we will be launching “Ministers In Training” to develop the next generation of preachers, teachers, church planters, worship leaders, etc. – this will be a SIX MONTH (every Saturday) intensive that will include theology curriculum, mandatory readings, lectures, video conferencing, prayer retreats, group fasting, fellowship, food, etc. I TRULY believe this is the KEY to capitalizing on the timing being orchestrated by God. Currently I have 10 men scheduled to be in attendance, and have already received word that there will trinitarian pastors/preachers in attendance. This, in my mind, best encapsulates the vision of “Find and Facilitate” and can break the ground for future intensives as we endeavor to reach this island with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This is just a brief glimpse into the work of God happening in Roatan – additionally, we’ve purchased our first church property, and are ready to build. Even as recent as this morning, I was meeting with the engineers and architects to finalize the design which will maximize our real-estate, as well as situate our building in such a way that best advertises to the main road what God is doing through this ministry. Included in our design is two apartments, two Sunday school rooms, a kitchen, men’s/women’s restrooms, a nursery and a baptismal – with an option for a second story balcony to increase seating capacity. I can’t hardly wait to get started on the construction process.  But we need help – I am finalizing the budget for our building and will be updating you with projected costs and opportunities to visit the island and help with construction, landscaping, maintenance, etc.!

Please continue to pray for the work of God in Roatan – the reality is we are fighting a spiritual battle, and the most needed and effective support is the prayers and consideration of those who believe in what God is doing on the island.

Blessings,

Missionary
